This fun flowing combination has been created for an Advanced level 2 and level 3 client who has no limitations. There is definitely light and shade throughout this combination and I encourage you to take your time, focus on my instructions, take big deep breaths and work your body to the best of your ability.
A KARV signature single leg special. Keep pushing through the burn to build on your endurance. Dumbbells are an option. Level 1 – Focus on the working leg (the foot that is on the foot bar) and introduce the opposite leg. Level 2 – Focus on both legs and introduce dumbbells. Level 3 – Get down and do it all! Perhaps you want to add a boat pose at the end and hold it for a minute. ENJOY x

When incorporating Pilates into your daily life you will expect exactly what Joseph Pilates quoted – “In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you’ll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you’ll have a whole new body”.
Matwork Pilates is a full body workout performed on a mat and utilises the body weight. It also includes using various Pilates equipment. For example, a Pilates ring, dumbbells, resistance bands and a ball.
Reformer Pilates combines the principals that Matwork Pilates offers while using a Reformer machine. The Reformer apparatus is a 4 point bed that has a carriage which slides backwards and forwards, a foot bar, pulleys and springs of varying tension creating resistance for the training. Reformer Pilates is an exceptional way to move as you can build strength with the support of the reformer bed. I also love that I can stand on the platform and dance like I’m on a podium.
Both. You get the benefit of moving anywhere in the world when you are doing matwork classes because all you need is the floor. If you have the option to purchase a reformer bed for your home, then you have just taken Matwork Pilates to another level as there is more variety of exercises and the resistance helps with range of motion so you can build and tone your muscles while increasing stability through the joints.
Please always check with your doctor first to give you the all clear and then start slowly when introducing yourself to any workout. There is NO RUSH when it comes to building strength. Take your time and when you start to build strength – increase your exercise time and the exercises you do.
